Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 16 September 2026. These terms state who pays what. They bind customers who buy on Verandah and businesses that list. A live release still needs counsel’s sign-off; the money rules below are the ones we operate to.

1. Who we are 2. Customer terms — platform fee 3. Merchant terms — marketing fee 4. Fee schedule 5. Click and collect 6. The store 7. Proof of purchase 8. Payouts 9. Privacy

1. Who we are

Verandah is a store and a network. Customers buy goods here. Businesses list a café, shopfront, or online store once. Partner platforms (Appreci is the first door) can present the same catalogue. Verandah is not a gifting platform.

Appreci Hampers is a listed store on Verandah and a partner door. It is not the merchant of record for other shops. Payouts are settled by Appreci Payments.

There is no joining fee and no monthly fee to list.

2. Customer terms — platform fee

You, the customer, pay a platform fee. It is shown on checkout, on the ticket, and on the receipt as “Platform fee”. It is not a bank fee, card fee, or scheme fee. Verandah keeps the platform fee.

Your bill is only:

You do not pay a marketing fee. Marketing fees are charged to the shop, not to you, and only when that shop has reached a volume tier.

By placing an order you agree to these Customer terms, including the platform fee as displayed before you confirm.

3. Merchant terms — marketing fee

You, the shop, may be charged a marketing fee. It is not taken from the customer’s platform fee line. It is a percentage of goods (not shipping) once this shop’s monthly goods sales clear a published target. Launch is 0%.

On Launch:

When this shop’s goods sales in a calendar month reach a volume tier, a marketing fee starts on goods sold after that threshold applies (see the schedule). The customer’s platform fee percentage steps down at the same time. We do not charge a marketing fee until that shop has seen volume.

By listing you agree to these Merchant terms and the fee schedule. Cafés and bricks-and-mortar list only if they use Square, for now. Online stores must give us the host shipping rates they charge today.

4. Fee schedule

Published rates. Goods means the shelf price. Shipping is never used to calculate platform fee or marketing fee.

Tier This shop’s goods / month Marketing fee (shop) Platform fee (customer)
Launch $0 – $14,999 0% 7% of goods, shown as one “Platform fee” line (includes Verandah’s recovery of processing cost — never labelled as a bank or card fee)
Proven $15,000 – $39,999 2% of goods 6% of goods, as “Platform fee”
Scale $40,000+ 3.5% of goods 5% of goods, as “Platform fee”

Who is paid:

We may change this schedule with notice to listed shops. The rate that applies is the rate shown at checkout (customer) and on the desk (shop) at the time of the order.

5. Click and collect

Cafés and street shops, Square only for now. You buy ahead, collect in store, and pay on that shop’s Square Terminal. The Terminal total already includes the platform fee. The shop is not left to absorb processing — that cost sits inside the platform fee, which the customer pays.

Partners such as Appreci may send a click-and-collect order into the same shop. They do not hold the shop’s Square keys. The same ticket, the same platform fee, the same marketing-fee rules.

6. The store

Shop checkout is a standard checkout. Verandah buys on your behalf from the maker. It is not click and collect and it does not use a Square Terminal. The bill is goods + host shipping + platform fee.

Appreci Hampers is already a listed catalogue on this store.

7. Proof of purchase

The purchaser may present any one of: the transaction in the Verandah application, a printed receipt, or the email receipt. All three carry the same reference. The shop must honour a valid reference for that order.

8. Payouts

Weekly ABA into the Australian account nominated at join. Settled by Appreci Payments. We pay goods minus any marketing fee then due, plus host shipping collected for you. We do not pay you the customer’s platform fee.

9. Privacy

A live service collects: work email, trading name, shop type, place, Square location identifiers, payout last-four, and, for customers, name, email, mobile, and delivery address where needed — to fulfil the order, send the receipt, and pay the shop. Until accounts are on the server, a shop record may also sit in the browser on this device.

We do not keep full account numbers after save. Square holds card data. Verandah never sees the card.

Questions on fees: they are only ever platform fee (customer) or marketing fee (shop). If a screen, receipt, or partner uses other words, these terms prevail.

Settled by Appreci Payments.
